A.R.Rahman will showcase a two hour performance in Sydney
According to Reports, the Oscar-winning composer will showcase a two and a half hour performance accompanied by more than 40 Bollywood dancers, singers and musicians.
"Sydney Festival is proud to celebrate this inspiring and multidimensional artist who is without doubt one of the world’s great talents," said festival president Nathan Rees.
A.R.Rahman’s show will take place on January 16 at the Parramatta Park near Sydney, beginning at 7pm.

Om Puri has apologised to his wife for his outburst about the intimate revelations in her biography of him.
The actor earlier said that he was angry at Nandita Puri for telling all about his relationships with two maids in her book Unlikely Hero: The Story Of Om Puri.
Puri told: "I deeply regret my impulsive nature. It has hurt my wife and my son Ishaan.
"My son has been crying over the phone. I beg my wife and son’s forgiveness."
He added: "My anger should have been projected at the publishers for trying to pre-sell my wife’s book by leaking out only the sexual episodes."
He had reportedly been worried about being compared with alleged rapist Shiney Ahuja.
Shah Rukh Khan will combine a concert with the shoot in Malaysia
A Malaysian state hopes to hold a concert next month by Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan who had promised to shoot the film Happy New Year in the country.Malacca state conferred the award of Datuk, akin to British knighthood, on Khan last December. It hopes he will keep his promise to shoot for his next film Happy New Year.
Assuming that he will combine a concert with the shoot, plans are afoot to get Khan to perform December 11 in Malacca. Malaccan Chief Minister Mohammed Ali Rustam, who was instrumental in Khan being made a Datuk, Tuesday said the state would seek private sponsorship to help organise the concert in conjunction with the UN World Assembly of Youths 60th anniversary celebrations.
The event, he added, would be held at Stadium Hang Jebat in Krubong to enable many fans to catch their Bollywood idol in action, The Star newspaper reported. "We are trying to get a private company or maybe several more to sponsor the event. "It will be worth their while as they can get international publicity if Shah Rukh Khan endorses their products," he told reporters in Kuala Lumpur.
He said state representatives had recently met the star in India to discuss how to promote and develop the local film industry. Shah Rukh said he was not keen on setting up a studio here due to time constraints.However, he said he would be glad to assist the state as an adviser, Rustam said.
Amid protests from local artists and celebrities, Rustam convinced the Malaccan royalty last year to confer the award on Khan and the title of ?Datin’ on his wife Gauri Khan.Besides Khan, several Bollywood stars and their films are popular in Malaysia where their popularity goes much beyond the eight percent ethnic Indian population.

`Slumdog Millionaire` beauty Freida Pinto has expressed a desire to be adopted by none -other-than Hollywood superstar Angelina Jolie.
The 25-year-old actress admits she was in awe of the Oscar-winning beauty, who has six children, three of whom are adopted, the first time they met, Female First online reported.
"She`s a lovely lady. I don`t know what else she said to me, but I wanted to go up to her and say, `Adopt me!`," Pinto said.
"I think she`s a lovely person who is there for people who are just starting off, for starters like me. I remember when I met her at the Screen Actors Guild Awards and she said, `Just enjoy this because you never know if it`s going to happen again`," she added.
The Indian beauty, who is currently dating her `Slumdog Millionaire ` co-star Dev Patel, said that the appreciation received through the movie has affected her life in a big way.
"I have to pinch myself! It`s like a dream come true but we had a little message in `Slumdog Millionaire`, `It is destiny.` So that`s what I`m going to embrace it as and enjoy life," Pinto said.
The actress is currently in London shooting Oscar-winning director Woody Allen`s yet-untitled film with actor Josh Brolin.
